Bitget, a crypto trading platform, has announced its plans to enter the Middle East and hire up to 60 new employees, the company said on Thursday (July 21). The company said it has already established an office in downtown Dubai to support its growth, and will look for opportunities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It also plans to set up a regional headquarters.

Bitget said it has begun hiring for the new roles, with some staff already recruited for middle- and back-office positions.

"Our Middle Eastern team will grow quickly to support business expansion, with 30 to 60 hires expected over the next two years," Gracy Chen, managing director, said in a statement.

The company has already started applying for licenses to operate in Middle Eastern markets. The expansion follows Bitget's launch in Turkey earlier this year. In May, the crypto exchange said it was joining Copper's ClearLoop network, a crypto custody service, allowing clients of both companies to store digital assets within Copper's infrastructure while at the same time trading those assets on the exchange.
