Bitget Wallet Expands DeFi Accessibility Through Base and Aerodrome Integration
Bitget Wallet, a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet with a global user base, has completed a technical integration with the Ethereum Layer 2 network Base and its decentralized exchange Aerodrome. The update allows users to interact with Base-native assets directly within the Bitget Wallet app, including trading, staking, and participating in liquidity pools.
The integration enables Bitget Wallet users to access a range of decentralized finance (DeFi) functionalities without needing to bridge funds across platforms. Aerodrome, acting as Base’s core liquidity hub, incorporates a ve(3,3)-style incentive system to support liquidity growth for network-native tokens such as cbETH and cbBTC. Through this partnership, Bitget Wallet facilitates one-tap token swaps, staking, and liquidity participation, streamlining the on-chain experience for both new and existing users.
Bitget Wallet has also implemented its GetGas feature for Base, which allows transaction fees to be paid even by users who do not hold ETH. This reduces friction for Layer 2 DeFi interactions, addressing a common barrier to entry for casual or non-technical users. Additionally, a dedicated Base ecosystem section within Bitget Wallet’s Discover tab highlights prominent Base decentralized applications (DApps) across sectors including DeFi, gaming, and infrastructure, with tutorials and real-time token data to support user engagement.
The collaboration illustrates the trend of crypto wallet providers extending beyond asset custody into deeper on-chain utility, enabling broader DeFi participation while consolidating trading, staking, and exploration functions within a single interface. With support for over 130 blockchains and millions of tokens, Bitget Wallet positions itself as a multi-chain platform bridging user-friendly interfaces with complex decentralized infrastructure.
By embedding Aerodrome’s liquidity and incentive mechanisms within the wallet, Bitget Wallet aligns its platform with Base’s Layer 2 ecosystem, offering tools for efficient asset management and yielding opportunities. The integration emphasizes operational accessibility and user onboarding, reflecting the growing convergence of wallets and DeFi infrastructure in providing more inclusive financial services on Ethereum Layer 2 networks.
