BitGo Unveils Crypto-as-a-Service Platform

Crypto custody specialist BitGo has announced the launch of its Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform, aimed at assisting financial institutions, fintech companies, and enterprises in integrating digital asset functionalities into their existing products. The new platform is designed to simplify the complex process of embedding crypto services by leveraging BitGo's established wallet infrastructure, modular APIs, and regulatory licenses.
BitGo states that the CaaS platform seeks to optimize operational and infrastructure requirements for businesses. According to officials, the initiative is intended to "simplify how financial institutions embed crypto into their business and meet the scaling client demand without increasing the complexity, time, and resources required to run their marketplace." This approach provides a flexible framework, allowing businesses to customize offerings based on their specific needs.
Key functionalities offered by the CaaS platform include secure wallet infrastructure, regulatory licensing and compliance support, and features for trading, transfers, and staking. It also integrates built-in Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) tools, granular governance controls, and provides custodial insurance up to USD 250 million. The company emphasizes the platform's foundation on its existing infrastructure and compliance stack, which is already utilized by institutions globally.
The launch follows BitGo's recent regulatory milestone at the beginning of May 2025, when it secured approval from Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. This license, granted to BitGo's European entity, is expected to enable the firm to offer digital asset services, including custody, across EU member states via a single regulatory passport, extending its reach to crypto-native organizations, banks, and asset managers within the bloc. The CaaS platform is positioned to help organizations capitalize on the growing crypto economy and develop new revenue streams.
