Bitpanda CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad to Step Down; Christian Trummer Named Co-CEO

Bitpanda CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad intends to step down in Q1 2027, the Vienna-based crypto exchange operator said. Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Christian Trummer will become Co-CEO alongside him, effective immediately.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad will remain CEO and continue to lead the company until his departure. The Board of Directors has initiated a structured search for his successor, with both internal and external candidates under consideration.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad became sole CEO of Bitpanda in November 2024, when former CEO Eric Demuth transitioned to Executive Chairman & President of the Board of Bitpanda Group AG, the Swiss holding company of the Bitpanda Group.

As Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, Trummer brings extensive experience in developing the platform and technology that underpin Bitpanda's strategy. He will ensure added executive focus on product excellence as Bitpanda develops its multi-asset offering across crypto, stocks, ETFs, and precious metals, and expands its infrastructure for financial institutions.

Eric Demuth, Executive Chairman and President of the Board of Bitpanda, said that Enzersdorfer-Konrad played a key role in building a more diversified business with strong foundations, and thanked him for his commitment. Demuth added that with Trummer as Co-CEO, the company enters its next phase of growth from a position of strength, with a reinforced focus on Bitpanda's platform and its partnerships with financial institutions.

Enzersdorfer-Konrad said his decision to step down next year was not an easy one, adding that he is proud of what the team has built and remains fully committed to leading Bitpanda until his departure. He said he looks forward to driving the strategy with Trummer and the teams.

Trummer said that twelve years ago the founders started Bitpanda with the conviction that investing should be easier and more accessible. He said he looks forward to leading the company with Enzersdorfer-Konrad and the teams to make Bitpanda more intuitive and capable, and to create more value for customers and partners.
