Bitstamp Is Suspending Trading of Seven Crypto Offerings in US

Bitstamp, the longest-running crypto exchange, announced that it is suspending trading of seven tokens in the U.S.
"Starting from August 29, 2023, we are suspending trading for the following cryptocurrencies in the US: AXS, CHZ, MANA, MATIC, NEAR, SAND and SOL," Bitstamp stated in a statement issued Tuesday.
According to the statement, the adjustment is due to the ‘dynamic regulatory environment’ in the country.
Bitstamp emphasized that as of August 29, 2023, new orders involving the aforementioned crypto assets will be disabled and related existing orders will be cancelled. However, clients can still hold these crypto assets in their Bitstamp accounts and can withdraw them at any time.
"To ensure a smooth transition during the trade halt, we kindly request our users to promptly execute any desired buy or sell orders involving the affected assets before August 29, 2023. After this deadline, trading activities related to AXS, CHZ, MANA, MATIC, NEAR, SAND, and SOL will be permanently disabled on the Bitstamp platform," the crypto exchange further explained.
Recently, the U.S. has increasingly tightened regulations on the crypto industry. After the CFTC filed charges against the crypto giant Binance, several leading crypto exchanges including Binance, Crypto.com, and Coinbase have delisted a variety of crypto offering, or suspended or even withdrawn from the US market. Companies such as Nasdaq, Robinhood and Revolut have also halted their crypto-related businesses in the United States to wait and see what will happen to crypto regulation in the country.
