Bitwise Solana ETF Attracts $223 Million on First Day
The first U.S. Solana staking exchange-traded fund (ETF) recorded a strong debut, drawing about $222.8 million in assets on its opening day, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Eric Balchunas.
The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) offers exposure to Solana (SOL), which traded near $191.64 on launch day, with an estimated 7% annual yield from staking rewards. Balchunas called the debut “unusually large for a crypto ETF launch,” signaling rising institutional comfort with staking exposure.
The fund’s launch follows recent SEC guidance clarifying that some proof-of-stake activities are not securities offerings, paving the way for staking-based ETFs. Bitwise had delayed the U.S. rollout amid regulatory uncertainty but previously launched a similar product in Europe.
Analysts say BSOL’s $223 million debut highlights growing investor interest beyond Bitcoin and Ether. With several other issuers preparing staking-related ETFs, Bitwise’s success may accelerate approvals for similar products in the U.S. market.
