Bloomberg to acquire Canoe Intelligence

Bloomberg announced a definitive agreement to acquire Canoe Intelligence, an AI-powered platform for automating private markets data collection and delivery. The acquisition advances Bloomberg’s strategy to unify data, analytics, and tools across public and private markets for institutional investors. Bloomberg already provides data on over three million private companies, 50,000 private funds, and 16,000 private direct loans, and earlier this year launched a certified integration with Canoe for Bloomberg PORT Enterprise. 

Canoe processes over 1.5 million documents per month across more than 44,000 funds, serving over 500 institutional clients representing over $11 trillion in assets under service. The combination will enable a fully integrated total portfolio view, enhanced pre-investment intelligence, converged data infrastructure using FIGI identifiers, and AI-powered insights via Bloomberg’s ASKB interface. Canoe was incubated by 10East and 22C Capital, with institutional investors including Blackstone, Carlyle, Eight Roads, F-Prime, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Hamilton Lane, and Nasdaq Ventures. Jefferies LLC acted as exclusive financial advisor to Canoe, and Cooley LLP served as legal advisor.
