Broadridge Appoints Keir Gumbs as New Chief Legal Officer

Fintech major Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: BR) yesterday announced the appointment of Keir Gumbs as its new Chief Legal Officer(CLO), effective July 27, 2021.

According to the official press release, Mr Gumbs will take over from Adam Amsterdam as CLO, who will be retiring after nearly 30 years of leading Broadridge’s Legal function. As part of a long-planned transition, Amsterdam will step into a Senior Advisor role.

In his new role, Mr Gumbs will be responsible for overseeing the legal, compliance and physical security teams for Broadridge and leading Broadridge’s policy efforts. In addition, Mr Gumbs will serve as the primary legal advisor for senior management and the Board of Directors, and will join the Broadridge Foundation Board, Risk Committee, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) committee.

Prior to joining Broadridge, Mr Gumbs served as VP, Deputy General Counsel, Global Corporate, M&A and Securities and Deputy Corporate Secretary at Uber Technologies. Mr Gumbs left Covington & Burling LLP in August 2018 after spending 13 years and 2 months with the company. Previously, he held positions with the Securities and Exchange Commission over six years, including serving as Counsel to an SEC Commissioner.

Recently, China Renaissance, a leading Chinese financial institution, announced that it has expanded its post-trade processing relationship with Broadridge​ via Stock Connect. The expansion of the partnership aims to facilitate the clearing and settlement of both Shenzhen- and Shanghai-listed equities. Both firms are jointly planning for upcoming market and regulatory changes
