BUX and JP Morgan Launch Active ETF for Retail Investors

Dutch fintech firm BUX, now operating under the ownership of ABN AMRO, has introduced a new investment product in partnership with JP Morgan Asset Management. The product, branded as BUX Prime Investment Plans, is designed to offer retail investors diversified, actively managed ETF portfolios.
Initially available in eight European markets - including the Netherlands, Germany, and France - the new offering aims to bring sophisticated portfolio management tools to a broader audience. "Through our partnership with JP Morgan Asset Management, we're providing access to a level of expertise that was previously reserved for high-net-worth clients," explained Yorick Naeff, CEO of BUX and Head of Innovation at ABN AMRO.
The plans feature multiple risk profiles and investment objectives but will only be available to BUX Prime users, who pay a monthly fee of €7.99. No additional access fees are tied to the service.
JP Morgan Asset Management also highlighted the strategic relevance of active ETFs. "We believe active ETFs can play a key role in helping investors manage today's increasingly complex markets," said Travis Spence, the firm's Global Head of ETFs.
This product launch follows several structural changes at BUX. After ABN AMRO acquired the fintech firm for €68 million, BUX divested its CFD businesses in the UK and Cyprus. UAE-based APM Capital took over the UK operations, while Coinbase acquired the Cypriot entity - a move that could position the U.S.-based exchange to offer derivatives across Europe, although no related products have been released yet.
Earlier this year, BUX was fined €1.6 million by Dutch regulators for incentivizing customer acquisition through compensation to partners and influencers.
