Cake Wallet Launches Tokenized Stock Trading via xStocks Feature

Privacy-focused crypto wallet Cake Wallet has launched xStocks, a new feature that allows users to invest in tokenized versions of global stocks and ETFs directly within its decentralized app. The rollout represents a move to merge traditional financial markets with Web3, letting users purchase equities using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Monero (XMR).
Through xStocks, users can access tokenized shares of companies like Amazon, Google, and Nvidia, among others. All transactions occur within a self-custodial environment — meaning users retain full control of their funds without relying on banks or centralized brokers.
"With Cake Wallet, anyone can be their own bank and their own brokerage," said Vikrant Sharma, CEO of Cake Labs. "xStocks gives users complete control of their financial destiny — without compromising on privacy or accessibility."
The update expands Cake Wallet's decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, following the earlier introduction of dEURO, a stable digital euro offering yield on holdings. Both products operate through the LetsExchange API, which enables fast in-app swaps between cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets.
However, the xStocks feature will not be available in certain jurisdictions, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Belgium, and the UK, due to regulatory constraints.
Despite these restrictions, Cake Wallet continues to advance its goal of integrating traditional investment tools with decentralized infrastructure. By combining tokenized stock access, yield generation, and privacy-first design, the wallet positions itself as a multifunctional DeFi platform for users seeking autonomy and cross-market accessibility.
