Capital Index (UK), a London-based online forex and CFD brokerage firm, has announced its financial results for 2023, revealing a considerable downturn in performance. The company's trading revenue fell by 29%, from £1,463,501 in 2022 to £1,035,073 this year.

This decrease in revenue accompanies a deepened loss of £256,045, up from £201,638 in the previous year. The company's trading profit margin, however, saw a notable increase, rising to 93% from 77% in 2022. Despite this, cash and cash equivalents decreased to £240,305 from £315,471 the year before.

Capital Index attributed its financial struggles to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis in the UK, which has adversely impacted client numbers and trading volumes. The company has opted not to pay interim dividends and has not recommended a final dividend for the year. Looking ahead, the directors are cautiously optimistic, projecting a potential revenue increase and a return to profitability in 2024 as they aim to reduce overhead costs.
