Capital One UK appoints Lucy Hagues as the new CEO

Capital One Financial Corporation (COF) announced the appointment of Lucy Hagues as its UK CEO. The new CEO will be responsible for leading the general management of the UK credit card business. She will be succeeding Amy Lenander, Executive Vice President, who will assume an expanded role at the US office.

Amy Lenander, commented, “Having worked closely with Lucy for a number of years, I am delighted she has been chosen as our new UK CEO. Lucy is a brilliant leader with a passion for helping people to successfully manage their finances, alongside an unrelenting commitment to innovating within our industry. Lucy will be the first head of this business to have advanced from graduate to CEO all in the UK, which is a wonderful testament to Capital One’s commitment to developing talent.”

Lucy joined Capital One’s graduate programme in 2000. She has experience across multiple business functions, including underwriting, analytics, and operations, as well as exceptional risk management skills. She has worked as the Chief Marketing Officer and has led the marketing, product, brand and design teams. She was instrumental in the development of product initiatives including QuickCheck credit card eligibility checker and CreditWise, its credit score and report tool.
