Capital.com Appoints Travis Robson to Lead South African Operations

Retail FX and CFDs brokerage Capital.com has named industry veteran Travis Robson as CEO of its South African unit, marking the company's continued expansion into new markets.

Robson, based in Johannesburg, was previously CEO for Africa and the Middle East at online broker Trive, and before that spent nine years at IG Group in roles across South Africa and the UAE, culminating as Senior Executive Officer & CEO - UAE.

The appointment comes after Capital.com's late-2024 shift to a regional management model, with semi-autonomous business units headed by local chief executives. The restructuring reflects a strategic move to increase the company's presence outside its traditional UK and European markets, with a growing focus on the Middle East and Africa.

Capital.com described the new leadership in South Africa as part of its commitment to expanding its services and strengthening relationships with traders and investors in emerging markets.
