Capital.com MENA Head of Sales Chris Demetriou Departs

Chris Demetriou, Head of Sales for the MENA region at online brokerage group Capital.com, has left the company. He is reportedly set to take on a C-suite role at another, as-yet-unnamed company.

Demetriou joined Capital.com in Dubai early last year and helped turn the MENA region into the brokerage's largest operation, accounting for 57% of total company volume in Q2 2026. It was his second stint with Capital.com; he previously worked in London from 2021 to 2023 as Head of UK Sales.

His earlier career includes roles at CMC Markets as a Premium Client Manager, at Onyx Capital Group as Head of Client Management for its retail brokerage arm, as well as positions at XTB and ATA Research.

Capital.com CEO Middle East Tarik Chebib commented on Demetriou's departure in a LinkedIn post, noting that Demetriou's team scaled operations by deploying 50 AI agents for calling, which generated $5 million in revenue in just over a year. Chebib also highlighted Demetriou's personal transformation, including significant weight loss during his time in Dubai.
