Capital.com has entered the African market after receiving regulatory approval in Kenya. The broker obtained a licence from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to operate as a Dealing Online Foreign Exchange Broker, allowing it to offer online forex and trading services to local clients.

The company has appointed Samwel Kiraka as Chief Executive Officer for its Kenyan operations. He will oversee the establishment and management of the local business, including governance, compliance, and client operations, in line with CMA requirements. Kiraka said the firm’s focus would be on building local operations that meet regulatory and operational standards from the outset.

Capital.com is regulated in several major jurisdictions, including the UK, Cyprus, Australia, the Bahamas, and the UAE. The broker is also pursuing licences in additional markets to expand its global footprint. Finance Magnates previously reported that the firm has applied for regulatory approval in South Africa.

According to Capital.com, licence applications are also underway in Japan and Turkey, while the company is recruiting chief executives for planned operations in Brazil and Chile.

Valentina Rzheutskaya, Executive Director at Capital.com, said operating under local regulatory supervision is essential for the responsible provision of financial services. She added that the CMA licence establishes a clear framework for risk communication, client support, and internal controls in Kenya.

Capital.com joins a growing number of CFD brokers with a regulated local presence in Kenya. Firms such as IC Markets, FP Markets, Pepperstone, Exness, Admirals, INGOT Brokers, Scope Markets, and Exinity are already licensed and operating in the country.
