Cboe Futures Exchange to add nanosecond transaction time resolution to market data and order entry

Effective trade date August 31, 2026, Cboe Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) will update TransactTime (FIX Tag 60), OrigTime (FIX Tag 42), and SendingTime (FIX Tag 52) to support nanosecond precision transaction time in all order entry protocols and market data feeds.

A new "Send Nanoseconds" FIX port attribute will be introduced, allowing customers to optionally select nanosecond transaction times; by default, this attribute is set to false, while BOE, BOE Quote, and BOE Purge ports will automatically transmit nanosecond precision times with no opt-out available.

CFE Multicast market data TOP and PITCH feeds, along with trade data and timestamping service files, will also be updated to provide nanosecond resolution, as illustrated by a timestamp of 1,737,580,407,123,456,789 returning the value 123456789.
