Cboe Global Markets FX ADV Experiences 10.8% YoY Increase for August 2023

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe), a leading provider of global market infrastructure and tradable products, unveiled the monthly trading volume statistics across its global business lines for August 2023, witnessing a yearly increase of 10.8% in average daily trading volume (ADV) of its Global FX, but also posting decline across multiple equities markets.
Trading Overview for August 2023:
Global FX ADV amounted to $42.14 billion for the month, 10.8% higher than $38.03 billion in August 2022 and 6.2% lower than $44.95 billion in July 2023.
ADV of Multiply-listed options came in at 11.01 million contracts, increasing 5.2% compared to 10.46 million contracts in August 2022 and slightly decreasing 0.3% compared to 11.04 million contracts in July 2023.
ADV of Index options was 3.83 million contracts, jumping 40.9% compared to 2.72 million contracts in the same period of 2022 and rising by 11.1% compared to 3.44 million contracts in the prior month.
ADV of futures rising by 25.4% from 192,000 contracts to 240,000 contracts on a year-on-year basis, increasing 13.3% compared to 212,000 contracts in July 2023.
European Equities ADV was €7.24 billion for the month, falling by 13.6% on a YoY basis (August 2022: €8.38 billion) and falling by 12.3% on a MoM basis (July 2023: €8.26 billion).
Australian Equities ADV was AUD 661 million for the month, dropping by 6.4% on a yearly basis (August 2022: AUD 706 million) and rising by 6.0% on a monthly basis (July 2023: AUD 623 million).
Japanese Equities ADV was JPY 176 billion, increasing 7.9% on a yearly basis (August 2022: JPY 164 billion) and jumping 122.3% on a monthly basis (July 2023: JPY 79 billion).
