Cboe Global Markets Sees Overall Drops Across Equity Business for July 2023

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe), a leading provider of global market infrastructure and tradable products, unveiled the monthly trading volume statistics across its global business lines for July 2023, seeing an increase of 15% in average daily trading volume (ADV) of its Global FX, but an overall drop across its equity business.
Trading overview of July 2023:
Global FX ADV came in at $44.95 billion for the month, increasing 15% compared to $39.09 billion in July 2022 and slightly increasing 0.5% compared to $44.83 billion in June 2023.
ADV of Multiply-listed options totaled 11.04 million contracts, up 10.1% compared to 10.02 million contracts in July 2022 and down 3.7% compared to 11.47 million contracts in June 2023.
ADV of Index options totaled 3.44 million contracts, up 31.3% compared to 2.62 million contracts in last July and down 12.1% compared to 3.92 million contracts in the prior month.
ADV of futures amounted to 212,000 contracts, 13.6% higher than 187,000 contracts in the same period of last year and 7.2% higher than 198,000 in June this year.
ADV of European Equities was €8.26 billion for the month, dropping 17.6% compared to €10.03 billion in July 2022 and dropping 5.4% compared to €8.73 billion in the previous month.
ADV of Australian Equities was AUD 623 million during the period, a decrease of 0.8% on a yearly basis (July 2022: AUD 629 million) and a decrease of 9.4% on a monthly basis (June 2023: AUD 688 million).
ADV of Japanese Equities was JPY 79 billion, down 51.4% compared to JPY 163 billion in July 2022 and down 51.5% compared to JPY 164 billion in this June.
