Cboe Reports $754 Billion for Total Trading Volume in Sept 2021

Fazzaco learned that Cboe FX Markets, one of the top derivatives exchanges, has posted its spot trading figures for September. The total trading volume for the September reached $754 billion, which is the highest since March 2021.

The average daily volume (ADV) on the institutional platform came in $34.3 billion, increasing 18.6% than $28.9 billion in August. While the exchange handled the highest daily volume of $50.9 billion on 30 September, the lowest one of only $16.2 billion on September 6.

From the view of yearly basis, Cboe reported total spot FX volumes to be $702 billion in September 2020; however, the figure in the same month of 2021 is $754 billion, so there was a major leap of 7.4%.

Coming to the quarterly figures, the total volume of trading in the latest quarter came in at $2.1 trillion, while the ADV stood at $31.96 billion. However, the Q3 figures surged when compared to $30.2 billion in ADV handled in the same quarter of the previous year.
