Cboe Sees Recovery in May’s FX Demand
Fazzaco learned that Cboe FX Markets has posted its monthly trading figures for May 2021, revealing a marginal recovery in overall trading demand and average daily volumes (ADV).
The monthly volume of Cboe FX Markets increased by only 0.8 percent to $683 billion in May 2021 compared to the previous month's $677 billion. The ADV for May stood at $32.5 billion, compared to $30.7 billion recorded in April.
The daily volume reached over $43.2 billion on May 7, which is the highest in May. However, the last day of May recorded the lowest as only $16.2 billion in FX trading demand.
Earlier last month, Fazzaco reported that Cboe has hired Natan Tiefenbrun as Senior VP to expand its European team. Additionally, the company has received approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to roll out periodic auctions on Cboe BYX Equities Exchange – bringing to the U.S. equities markets a new, innovative intraday auction mechanism.
