The leading global exchange operator Cboe Global Markets (Cboe) has issued a warning about a fraudulent website that is cloning its brands.

According to the press release, the clone entity has been marketing its platform and services to consumers with the name ”CboeX” and operates under the domain name www.cboex.vip. Cboe confirmed that the clone entity has no association with them and is fraudulent.

“Please be warned that any entity or person associated with this website is not connected or affiliated in any way with Cboe or its subsidiaries. Any assertion of such a connection or affiliation was and is false and misleading,”Cboe stated.

Fraudsters often rely on copying information from the original websites of financial companies to create scam schemes. Last month, Dukascopy Bank SA, a Switzerland-based financial services provider, has issued a warning about a couple of fraudulent websites that were cloning the original one.

As Fazzaco reported earlier, Cboe’s Chairman, President and CEO Ed Tilly has been appointed as Chairman of the World of Federation of Exchanges (WFE), effective from September 9.
