CFTC Permits ICE Futures Abu Dhabi to Provide Trading Services for Americans

ICE Futures Abu Dhabi (IFAD) has just obtained a registration status from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The registration permits IFAD, which is now classified as a Foreign Board of Trade (FBOT), to provide trading services for US participants.
IFAD met the requirements of CTFC for FBOT registration and demonstrated that it has the attributes of "an established, organized exchange. It is subject to comprehensive oversight by its home country regulator whose supervision is comparable to that which the CFTC applies in its oversight of designated contract markets."
IFAD is a Middle East energy exchange incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is supported by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges based in Atlanta. IFAD is planned to launch world's first Murban crude futures contracts, which is produced by the emirate's national oil firm.
