“Checkout with Crypto” Now Officially Enabled at PayPal

Customers with sufficient cryptocurrency balance to fund a transaction will be able to use the service immediately at checkout, according to a new upgrade to PayPal's app. The notice goes on to say that all transactions are settled in US dollars and then converted to the business' fiat currency at the standard Paypal conversion rates.
The tool will be available to all of the company's thirty million merchants, potentially boosting cryptocurrency use in everyday commerce. PayPal partnered with Paxos Trust Company, a regulated provider of bitcoin products and services, to debut the feature at US merchants who accept PayPal.
Customers in the UK will be able to buy, hold, and trade four cryptocurrencies, starting with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin. These cryptos might then be used to purchase items from PayPal-accepting retailers all over the world.
After hiring a brokerage industry veteran to lead its "Invest at PayPal" division, the payment giant is considering launching a stock-trading platform for US consumers.
The foray into the burgeoning retail brokerage market follows PayPal's decision to allow its 400 million members to purchase and sell cryptocurrency.
Customers of PayPal's two-sided network, which comprises both PayPal and Venmo, can now store or invest their money within the same ecosystem, indicating that PayPal sees value in mixing trading and crypto transactions with payments.
