Circle, a global financial technology firm and issuer of USDC and EURC stablecoins, has achieved compliance with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework. This milestone was made possible through Circle's successful attainment of an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from the French banking regulatory authority, ACPR. With this license, Circle is now authorized to issue USDC and EURC stablecoins in compliance with MiCA's stringent regulatory standards for stablecoins and e-money tokens.

Jeremy Allaire, Co-Founder and CEO of Circle, emphasized the significance of this achievement in bringing digital currencies into mainstream acceptance. The launch of Circle Mint France enables business customers across Europe to access USDC and EURC with ease, leveraging local banking capabilities for seamless minting and redemption services.

Dante Disparte, Chief Strategy Officer at Circle, highlighted the broader implications for the digital financial ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of transparent regulatory frameworks to foster trust and adoption. Circle's proactive approach to regulatory compliance positions USDC and EURC as leading stablecoins in adherence to high standards of security and oversight.

Among the top 10 stablecoins by market capitalization, only USDC currently meets MiCA compliance requirements, reinforcing Circle's commitment to driving the mainstream adoption of regulated digital currencies globally. The company's initiative marks a significant step forward in establishing a robust and compliant framework for internet finance and digital asset innovation.
