Circle Hires FX Veteran Stephen Leahy as Head of Business Development

Circle, a blockchain-focused financial services and payments company, has hired financial services industry veteran and fintech entrepreneur Stephen Leahy as its head of business development. In his new role, Leahy focuses on Trading Markets including Market Makers, Asset Managers, and Exchanges.

Leahy has extensive experience in the finance world, especially in the FX industry. With broad expertise on the buy-side, sell-side and in building financial services platforms, he has set up three fintech companies.

As seen on his Linkedin post, Leahy was excited to join Circle to help build the infrastructure that is changing the way money moves around the world and enhancing global prosperity through public blockchains commerce.

Prior to joining Circle, Leahy spent a year at Conmodum Group, a provider of product roadmap, go-to-market, and sales program services across multiple asset classes and markets. Over the last two years, he was also the managing director of Oneiro Inc, where he acquired a basic understanding of the blockchain and crypto world.

Leahy's lengthy career in the finance services industry includes the CEO of Visual Trading Systems, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of FXPrimus, the head of business development for Americas at oneZero Financial Systems, and a managing member of Capital Markets Access Partners, LLC and Back Bay FX Services, LLC.
