Citi Appoints Nathan Sheets as Global Chief Economist

Fazzaco learned that Citi, one of the largest banks in the world, has appointed Nathan Sheets as its new Global Chief Economist, effective from October 2021.
As seen on his LinkedIn profile, Nathan joins Citi from PGIM Fixed Income, where he worked as Chief Economist and Head of Global Macroeconomic Research for 4 years. From 2014 to 2017, he served as the Under Secretary of the US Treasury for International Affairs. Prior to that, he was Director and Federal Open Market Committee Economist at the Federal Reserve Board. Additionally, he also worked as Senior Advisor at the International Monetary Fund.
Nathan is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Economics and holds a PhD in Ecnomics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Earlier in July, Fazzaco reported that Citi launched a new global Real-Time Liquidity Sharing solution to help companies improve efficiencies in liquidity and working capital. Additionally, the bank giant reported its financial figures for the second quarter of 2021, revealing a drop in revenues compared to Q2 2020.
