Job Description

R&D Head is responsible for managing innovation process from idea/concept, prototyping and delivering best quality solutions for business units across the bank as well as creating innovation strategy. R&D Head reports directly to Operations & Technology Head, a Member of the Management Board. The team is based in Warsaw and consists of 20 people.

Main tasks:

• Manage innovation process from idea/concept, prototype, to live implementation;

• Creating activeawareness within an organization of innovation, functional, effective and secure technology solutions;

• Creating innovation strategy for Citi Handlowy;

• Active research of new trends in banking products and available solutions on both local and international markets;

• Define vision for new innovation by presenting revenue/cost reduction opportunity, define customer proposition and assess competitive landscape;

• Cooperation with business units of Bank Handlowy for planning and implementation of services and technology solutions to support business goals and strategy;

• Pro-active engagement in creating new concepts and analyzing business needs;

• Effective coordination of projects teams working on research and developments

• Creative cooperation with local, regional, and global business and technology teams;

• Pro-active engagement of other technology teams for driving to results in achieving strategic goals;

• Cooperate with local partners (e.g. third parties, universities, governmental institution, etc.) for creative collaboration and building positive brand on the market for Citi Handlowy;

• Cooperate with global Citi Innovation Labs and global Citi VenturesKeep up to date with innovation in financial market;

• Application of FinTech and stat-ups opportunities;

• Managing a team of PMs, developers, business analytics and UX.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 yearsof experience in managing projects and leading Technology teams gained in banking or financial services sector;

• Knowledge of corporate business products and banking processes;

• Knowledge of executing and how to use quantitative and qualitative researches in delivering solutions;

• Deep knowledge of new technology and banking business solutions;

• “Innovation mindset” – ability to shape future solutions;

• Experienced change manager with proven track record in delivering change across complex organizations;

• Strong presentation skills;

• Excellent organizational and planning ability;

• Ability to manage multi-stream complex processes;

• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude;

• Very good communication skills;

• Curious leader ready to challange the status quo;

• Educated to degree level or equivalent;

• ITIL intermediate certifications;

• Fluent English, both written and verbal.
