Clearstream Launches New Data Solution, SFTR API

Clearstream, a leading European provider of post-trade services which is wholly owned by Deutsche Börse, announced recently the launch of its new SFTR API, designed to enable customers to retrieve information about their securities lending and borrowing transactions and help them with their SFTR reporting as mandated under the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR).
The SFTR, which intends to increase transparency across securities financing markets, requires market participants report their Securities Financing Transactions (SFTs) details to a registered trade repository.

The SFTR API leverages Clearstream's API platform, which exposes data directly to the IT systems of its customers, allowing the integration of data into customers' regulatory reporting systems, according to the official press release. With the new offering, borrowers and lenders can extract data seamlessly through machine-to-machine communication for their SFTR reporting or auditing.
Last month, Clearstream has been tapped by HSBC as global partner for administering investment fund activities for fund order routing, safekeeping, settlement and distribution support services.
