Clearstream Reports Slight Fall in Assets Under Custody in October

Clearstream, a leading European provider of post-trade services which is wholly owned by Deutsche Börse, has released its monthly figures for October 2022, indicating slight YoY decrease in its total assets under custody.

More specifically, the company posted that its assets under custody hit EUR 16,486 billion, lower than the previous year's EUR 16,555 billion.
Regarding the international business (ICSD), the number of securities deposits approached EUR 7,977 billion, up 7% than the prior year's EUR 7,426 billion. The number of transactions was flat with the same period in 2021.
In terms of Clearstream's domestic business (CSD), the number of securities deposits came in at EUR 5,356 billion, 7% lower than the same period in 2021. Moreover, the number of transactions stood at 13.2 million, down 9% on a YoY basis.
In addition, as for the investment funds services (IFS), the number of securities deposits reached EUR 3,152 billion, showing a decrease of 6% compared to October 2021. Furthermore, the number of transactions decreased by 8% to 3.4 million.
