Clearstream Sees Slight Decrease in Its Total Assets Under Custody in September

Clearstream, a leading European provider of post-trade services which is wholly owned by Deutsche Börse, has released its monthly figures for September 2022, indicating slight YoY decrease in its total assets under custody.

More specifically, the company posted that its assets under custody hit EUR 16,571 billion, 0.2 percent lower than the previous year's EUR 16,603 billion.
Regarding the international business (ICSD), the number of securities deposits approached EUR 7,994 billion, up 8% than the prior year's EUR 7,384 billion. However, the number of transactions decreased 1% to 5.8 million.
In terms of Clearstream's domestic business (CSD), the number of securities deposits came in at EUR 5,376 billion, 8% lower than the same period in 2021. Moreover, the number of transactions stood at 14.3 million, down 1% on a YoY basis.
In addition, as for the investment funds services (IFS), the number of securities deposits reached EUR 3,202 billion, showing a decrease of 5% compared to September 2021. Furthermore, the number of transactions increased by 3% to 3.6 million.
