CLS Group Reports 5% Increase in FX Average Daily Traded Volume in April 2022

CLS Group, a US-based foreign exchange settlement provider, has published its monthly metrics for April 2022. According to the report, the total average daily traded volume submitted to CLS reached $1.86 trillion, an increase of 5% compared to April 2021. In addition, on a month-on-month basis, volumes were down 12.5%.
Keith Tippell, Chief Product Officer, said:"In April 2022, we saw average daily traded volumes of USD1.86 trillion, an increase of 5% compared to April 2021. Over the same period, FX spot volumes and FX forward volumes were up by 14% and 27%, respectively, and FX swap volumes remained flat.”
CLS's services in the FX market can be categorized into three segments: forward, swap and spot. For the FX forward, the report noted that figures were $115 billion for April, which increased 27% compared to the same period in 2021.
FX swap average daily traded volumes were $1.269 trillion. In addition, spot trades rose 14%, contributing $475 billion to the total volume.
