CLS Group’s FX Average Daily Traded Volume Yearly Rises 8% in July 2022

CLS Group, a US-based foreign exchange settlement provider, has published its monthly metrics for July 2022, showing an yearly increase in its total average daily traded volume.

According to the report, the total average daily traded volume submitted to CLS reached $1.879 trillion, an increase of 8 percent compared to July 2021. However, on a month-on-month basis, volumes were down 5 percent from June's $1.98 trillion.

Keith Tippell, Chief Product Officer, said:"In July 2022, we saw average daily traded volumes of USD1.88 trillion, an increase of 8% compared to July 2021. Over the same period, FX forward and spot volumes were up significantly – by 66% and 12%, respectively – while FX swap volumes were also up by 2%."

CLS's services in the FX market can be categorized into three segments: forward, swap and spot. For the FX forward, the report noted that figures were $140 billion for July, which increased 66 percent compared to the same period in 2021. This figure increased by almost 2.2 percent when compared with the previous month.

FX swap average daily traded volumes were $1.268 trillion, this figure increased by 5.4 percent when compared with the previous month. In addition, spot trades monthly declined 6 percent, contributing $471 billion to the total volume.
