CLS Registers Growth in FX Trading Volume for January 2024

Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS), a forex settlement and aggregation service company, updated its forex trading data for January 2024, registering the average daily traded volume (ADTV) submitted to CLS of $2.093 trillion, 6.4% higher than $1.967 trillion in December 2023 and 9.2% higher than $1.917 trillion in January 2023.

More specifically, ADTV of FX Forward totaled $204 billion for the month, rising 13.3% compared to $180 billion in the prior month and jumping 47.8% compared to $138 billion in the year-ago month.

ADTV of FX Swap for the period increased 7.9% from $1.289 trillion to $1.391 trillion on a month-on-month basis (MoM), increasing 5.9% compared to $1.313 trillion in the same period of 2023.

Trading volume of FX Spot reached $498 billion per day in January 2024, up 6.9% compared to $466 billion in the year-ago month, unchanged MoM.
