CLS Sees Total FX ADTV of $1.986Tn for July 2023, Up 5.6% YoY

Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS), a forex settlement and aggregation service company, released its forex trading data for July 2023, reporting the average daily traded volume (ADTV) submitted to CLS of $1.986 trillion, down 4.0% compared to $2.069 trillion in June 2023 and up 5.6% compared to $1.881 trillion in July 2022.

Specifically, ADTV of FX forward came in at $215 billion, an increase of 16.8% compared to $184 billion in the prior month and an increase of 53.6% compared to $140 billion in the same month of last year.

Trading volume of swap amounted to $1.280 trillion per day, dropping by 9.2% compared to $1.409 trillion in June but slightly rising by 0.9% compared to $1.269 trillion in July of last year.

ADTV of spot increased by 3.2% from $476 billion to $491 billion on a monthly basis, increasing by 4.0% compared to $472 billion in July 2022.
