CMC Markets Appoints Angela Hayward as ANZ Corporate Distribution Head

CMC Markets has appointed Angela Hayward as Head of Corporate Distribution for Australia and New Zealand. This move comes as the brokerage expands its capital markets division, CMC CapX, beyond its initial UK focus, signaling an effort to establish a stronger regional presence amid evolving capital raising conditions.

Hayward joins CMC CapX, the firm's dedicated capital markets and private investments platform. The division connects companies with investors for transactions including IPOs, secondary placings, and pre-IPO investments, focusing on capital raising rather than leveraged trading. Launched in 2022, CMC CapX operates alongside the firm's core CFD and stockbroking business.

The expansion into Australia and New Zealand marks CMC CapX's first major step into the Asia-Pacific region. The company aims to replicate its UK model by linking issuers with institutional investors while adapting its distribution strategy to local market conditions.

Hayward brings over 30 years of financial services experience, including more than a decade at Bell Direct and over seven years at E*TRADE. She most recently ran her own consultancy, Hayward Wealth, and previously held a role at Australian Bond Exchange.

Separately, CMC Markets last year signaled a deeper move into blockchain, hinting at plans to launch tokenised assets on CMC CapX through a partnership with StrikeX Technologies. The company also aims to simplify its Singapore structure by merging its stockbroking entity with its main local CFD unit.
