CMC Markets, Devexperts, Bitcoin Suisse and Other Four Companies Are Hiring Now

February's U.S. unemployment rate remained near record lows despite a slight year-over-year increase to 3.9%, up from 3.6% 12 months ago, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, layoffs are continuing.

UBS Group AG started cutting jobs at its Asia private banking division this week as a slump in profits weighs on the region's largest wealth manager, according to people familiar with the matter. The firm is cutting about 70 people, including relationship managers, mainly in Hong Kong and Singapore through the end of March.

Meanwhile, the British lender Metro Bank is axing 1,000 jobs and ending its trademark seven-day branch model, after nearly tripling the size of its cost-cutting plan after its autumn rescue deal.

The fintech industry has also experienced its share of layoffs. International Business Machines Corp (IBM) reportedly carried out job cuts in its marketing and communications division, with no specific number disclosed. One 97 Communications, the parent company of fintech unicorn Paytm, is also said to be considering staff reductions across various departments. However, the exact number of affected employees has not been disclosed.

Despite the ongoing layoffs, the current job market is not as dire as one may think. Requirements:

• Qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification - Degree or Masters in Accounting or Finance;

• Exposure to preparation of financial statements under German GAAP;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German (fluency) and English;

• Experience of managing multiple deadlines with a track record of delivering under pressure;

2. Devexperts - Java Web Developer

Devexperts, a financial software developer for brokers and financial institutions, is looking for a Java Web Developer.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of fundamental data structures and algorithms;

• Knowledge of design patterns, experience in system architecture development;

• Strong understanding of REST APIs;

• Experience consuming live streams of data using technologies like WebSockets or server-sent events;

• Understanding of performance in modern web browsers including reflow/repaint/composite in browsers, asset loading costs, etc.;
