CMC Markets Posts Net Operating Income of £288.4M for FY23
CMC Markets, a leading global provider of online trading and institutional (B2B) platform technology solutions, today published its final results for the year ended March 31, 2023 (FY23), recording the net operating income increased 2% on a yearly basis.
Financial Performance in FY23:
The net operating income came in at £288.4 million, a slight increase of 2% compared to £281.9 million in FY22.
Profit before tax dropped by 43% from £91.5 million to £52.2 million on a yearly basis.
Basic earnings per share was 14.7 pence, jumping 40% compared to 24.6 pence in FY22.
Number of trading active clients on its platforms totaled 58,737 for the year, 9% lower than 64,243 in the prior year.
Trading revenue per active client was £3,968, increasing 11% compared to £3,575 in FY22.
Number of investing active clients decreased by 11% from 246,120 in FY22 to 218,310.
Lord Cruddas, Chief Executive Officer commented: "During the past year, we have made progress to refine and deliver our diversification strategy. We have improved our product range across our core trading CFD and spread bet businesses, offering our clients access to a wider range of financial instruments through our award-winning platforms. We have leveraged our existing technology to launch a new investment platform in the UK, with a Singapore platform launching imminently, as well as opening a new office in Dubai to support the rapid growth we are seeing in our institutional business."
He added: "CMC is changing quickly. Investment in our trading platforms continues and over the coming six months we're positioned to launch cash equities, options and listed futures across our various platforms to allow our clients better opportunities to trade or hedge existing portfolio positions. Invest UK will be launching SIPPs and mutual funds, whilst Invest Singapore will initially offer equities, ETFs, options and futures. Additionally, over the course of the next 12 months, we plan to introduce a new multi-asset platform capable of trading a much wider range of instruments.
