CME Group Expands Its Weekly Options Suite of U.S. Treasury Futures with Addition of Monday Expiries

CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, has announced that it has expanded its suite of weekly options expiries for U.S Treasury with the launch of Monday expiries.
This expansion aims to enhance risk management capabilities by providing traders with additional opportunities for precise risk assessment and mitigation around market-moving events. In addition to the already available Wednesday and Friday expiries, the inclusion of Monday expiries further strengthens CME Group's offerings in the derivatives market.
Agha Mirza, Global Head of Rates and OTC Products at CME Group, said: "Our short-term options provide enhanced opportunities to navigate the historic volatility and record risk transfer that is taking place in the U.S. Treasury market. In today's uncertain rate environment, Fed meetings, economic reports and other data-driven indicators are increasingly driving risk for our clients. With this in mind, we added Monday expiries to our U.S. Treasury options suite to enable additional hedging across the yield curve for weekend risk."
CME Group has been continuously expanding its derivatives offerings. In September, the Group announced its plan to launch options on Micro Gold futures. Earlier this year, it also expanded its suite of cryptocurrency options across its standard- and micro-sized Bitcoin and Ether contracts.
