CME Group Reports 20% YoY Increase in ADV in November 2021

US derivatives giant CME Group recently posted its market statistics for the month of November 2021, showing an increase in ADV against the prior year.
More specifically, the group reported an average daily volume (ADV) of 23.1 million contracts during the month, 20% higher than the same period last year. Interest Rate monthly ADV stood at 12 million contracts, 40% higher year-over-year.
Equity Index ADV came in at 5.6 million contracts. Options ADV increased 59% YoY to 4.1 million contracts. Energy ADV hit 2.4 million contracts, up by 15% compared to November 2020. Agricultural ADV reached 1.4 million contracts, and Foreign Exchange ADV totaled 801,000 contracts. In addition, Metals ADV approached 631,000 contracts.
As Fazzaco reported earlier, CME Group has fined GFI Securities $75,000 for failure to diligently supervise its employees and agents in the conduct of their business relating to the exchange and violations in mandatory block trade reporting obligations.
