CME Group Sees 6% YoY Increase in International ADV in Q2 2021

CME Group, the world’s leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, recently posted its international average daily volume(ADV) for Q2 2021.

More specifically, the group recorded an international ADV of 5.1 million contracts, indicating an YoY increase of 6%. Reflecting all trading done outside North America, this increase was mainly driven by global growth in Agricultural and Interest Rate products, up 30% and 42% respectively. Moreover, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as well as Asia Pacific and Latin America CME also saw record quarterly volumes in agricultural products during the last quarter.

In Q2 2021, EMEA ADV came in at 3.7 million contracts, 5% higher than prior year. Asia Pacific ADV reached 1.2 million contracts, up 8% from a year earlier. Latin America ADV touched 114,000 contracts, which is up by 5% compared to the second quarter of 2020.

In addition, the group recorded a solid global growth as the overall ADV totaled 18.4 million contracts, showing an increase of 5% on a YoY basis.
