Chicago-based CME Group, a derivatives exchange, announced three new real-time indices and reference rates for cryptocurrencies will be released jointly with CF Benchmarks on October 31. CF Benchmarks, a UK FCA-regulated benchmark administrator, will calculate and publish these rates daily.

The rates and indices to become available soon include Avalanche, Filecoin and Tezos; none of them are tradeable futures contracts.

"Together with bitcoin, ether and other available cryptocurrencies, CME CF Reference Rates and Real-Time Indices will capture more than 92% of the investable cryptocurrency market capitalization," said Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products.

The strong techniques that form the foundation of the CME CF Reference Rates and Real-Time Indices, which are intended to address the expanding demand for transparent, regulated, and 24-hour pricing, are regularly reviewed by experts.

Leading cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms Bitstamp, Coinbase, Gemini, itBit, Kraken, and LMAX Digital will first be the ones to supply pricing data for these new benchmarks. A minimum of two of these constituent exchanges will provide trading for each coin.

The U.S. dollar price of each digital asset will be provided by each of these new reference rates, which will be released once daily at 4 p.m. London time, while each corresponding real-time index will be published once per second, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This week, CME Group posted its ADV growth in September 2022 as well as Q3, with FX ADV showing record growth.
