Coinbase and Tether Launch Blockchain AI Tool
Coinbase and Tether have launched innovative tools that merge blockchain technology with artificial intelligence (AI), aimed at enhancing user privacy and autonomy in decentralized networks. These advancements are designed to transform how developers interact with blockchain, providing users with greater control and security.
At the Lugano Plan B conference, Tether introduced its Local AI development kit, which allows developers to create peer-to-peer (P2P) AI applications compatible with a variety of devices, from affordable mobile phones to high-performance servers. Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, highlighted the SDK's modular design, which supports various models like Marian and Llama, enabling customization of AI functionalities. Importantly, all data processing occurs on-device, ensuring that user information remains decentralized and secure.
As part of its commitment to the blockchain community, Tether plans to release this AI kit as open-source software, facilitating the development of private and scalable AI applications to enhance decentralized interactions. Meanwhile, Coinbase has introduced its Based Agent platform, which focuses on creating autonomous agents that operate directly on the blockchain. Developed using the Coinbase Developer Platform and OpenAI's language model, Based Agent enables users to quickly build on-chain agents, allowing for hands-free execution of blockchain tasks.
The Coinbase Developer Platform supports essential on-chain functions, such as balance checks and asset transfers, making it easier for both developers and non-technical users to engage with blockchain operations. The recent initiatives by Tether and Coinbase exemplify the growing convergence of AI and blockchain technology, which is expected to revolutionize decentralized systems by enhancing automation, privacy, and user control.
