Coinbase Enriches Products and Builds Partnerships to Enhance Experience for Japanese Customers

Crypto exchange Coinbase announced yesterday that it has taken a series measures to enhance the experience for clients in Japan.
Coinbase has been updating its products in Japan to elevate its local product experience. The firm wants to be part of the country's journey into Web3 technologies, according to the official press release.
The crypto exchange has been entering partnerships with top tier institutions like MUFG. It integrated GMO Aozora Net Bank and Au Jibun Bank as well, to allow customers with these bank accounts to use Quick Deposit, which enables almost real-time transactions. Besides, its partnership with GMO Aozora Net Ban allows customers of over 1,000 banks in the country to deposit money into Coinbase.

The crypto firm has tripled the number of listed assets, with BAT, BCH, BTC, DOT, ETC, ETH, ENJ, LINK, LTC, MKR, OMG, SAND, SOL and XLM listed in Japan currently. "We review assets as thoroughly and quickly as possible, and list everything that we can safely and legally, considering local policy and regulatory requirements," said the firm.
It plans to continue doubling down on enriching the assets available in Japan while staying true to its compliance and security tenets.
Additionally, Coinbase supports foreigners in Japan to onboard using their residence card to perform identity verification. For local clients, on top of driver's license, My Number Card was made available as a method of identity verification.
"We made these updates to stay true to our mission of providing ease of use in our products, as well as our vision to increase economic freedom for everyone; opening doors so even more people in Japan can access Web3. This is only the beginning of our next chapter in Japan. In the near and far future we will continue stacking updates and elevating the experience of our local community," Coinbase stated.
