Coinbase makes futures contracts available to trade in 26 European countries

Coinbase has launched futures trading for customers in 26 European countries, including Germany, France, and the Netherlands. The fully regulated contracts are being offered through the firm's Coinbase Advanced platform via its MiFID-regulated entity.
The rollout provides European traders access to regulated crypto futures, equity indices futures like the Mag7 + Crypto Equity Index Futures, and perpetual-style futures. Users can trade a variety of contracts ranging from Bitcoin and Solana to equity indices.
The exchange offers two primary types of cash-settled futures. Perpetual-style futures feature five-year expiries, use an hourly funding mechanism to track the underlying asset, and settle once daily. Dated contracts have specific monthly or quarterly expirations, are marked to market daily, and are cash-settled if held to expiry.
Key trading terms include leverage of up to 10x on select contracts like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and equity indices, with 4x to 5x available on other products. Trading fees start as low as 0.02% per contract. Eligible users can access the service via a new "derivatives" tab on Coinbase Advanced after completing checks and funding an account with EUR or USDC.
