Crypto Exchange Kraken Seeks New License to Enter EU Market

US-based crypto exchange Kraken is seeking to acquire a license to enter the European market by the end of 2021.
The exchange has started talks with multiple regulators on the continent. It has already shortlisted Malta, Luxembourg, and the Republic of Ireland among possible countries to be its European base. But there’s been no formal decision to date.

The exchange is formally present in Europe, however, it currently offers access to its European clients via its subsidiary Crypto Facilities, known as Kraken Futures, an entity registered with the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
As Fazzaco reported earlier, Kraken has announced that deposit fees for more than 70 supported digital assets have been reduced to zero, effective immediately.
