Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has announced that it has signed a sponsorship deal with Angel City Football Club (ACFC), a planned National Women's Soccer League expansion team that is expected to begin play in 2022.

According to the official press release, this sponsorship aims to strengthen Crypto.com's brand presence in the sports field, marking the first time that a crypto exchange directly partners with a women's sports team.

Under the signed agreement, Crypto.com has become the club’s official cryptocurrency and NFT partner. Additionally, the two parties will help the exchange to increase access and awareness of cryptocurrencies, blockchain , and Web3 technologies among football fans as well as players. Moreover, the two partners will focus on community engagement, financial equity and social impact initiatives.

"We're thrilled to be joining ACFC as a founding partner, deepening our relationship with the City of Los Angeles while supporting a team that shares our values and is equally committed to helping people achieve financial independence and self-determination," said Kris Marszalek, the Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com.

"Given the speed with which Web3 and cryptocurrency is changing our world, we want to ensure that women are being brought along on the journey as investors and creators," ACFC Co-Founder and President Julie Uhrman said.

As Fazzacp previously reported, Crypto.com has announced to become an official partner of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), an annual international club football competition, for the 2023-2026 cycle.
