CySEC Flags New Cases of Fraudulent Impersonation of Its Representatives

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announced yesterday that it has detected additiopnal fraudulent cases impersonating CySEC Officers and representatives.
According to the official press release, these scammers contact by telephone or send unsolicited correspondence to investors or members of the public, and request personal data, financial or otherwise.
Further, the imposters intend to soliciting fees from investors in exchange for settlement of bogus compensation claims related to firms under CySEC supervision.
The Cypriot watchdog urges the public to exert utmost caution when facing any unsolicited communication purporting to be from CySEC, and refrain from giving money to anyone who claims to be representing CySEC.
Shortly before, CySEC has withdrew the Cyprus Investment Firm authorisation of Stone Edge Capital Ltd, with number 311/16, due to the entity's multiple violations.
