Danish Fintech Pleo Raises $150m in Series C Funding

Pleo, a Danish fintech firm launched in 2015 which provides spending solutions, announced on July 6 that it has completed the financing of $150m, the largest Series C raised for any Danish-headquartered company ever, bringing its valuation to $1.7 billion.

According to Pleo, this Series C round was co-led by Bain Capital Ventures and Thrive Capital, with contributions from investors who have been with Pleo from the beginning: Creandum, Kinnevik, Founders, Stripes and Seedcamp.

“First and foremost, we’ll be taking this investment as an opportunity to scale our company. We’re on a mission to transform business spending and make everyone feel valued at work. We’ll be spending more time and investment looking at market expansion,” said the fintech.
