Deutsche Börse Reports A Surge in Cash Markets Turnover in September

Deutsche Börse Group, a leading German marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and other securities, has published the trading metrics across its cash markets for September.

Specifically, the group’s cash markets generated a total turnover of €156.9 billion over the last month, which is a 5.3 percent up year-over-year. The cash markets saw a trading volume of €149 billion in September 2020.
According to the announcement, Xetra exchange, which generated most of the trading volumes, saw an increase to €131.1 billion last month from the previous year’s €124.9 billion. Xetra’s average daily trading volume increased from €5.7 billion in September 2020 to €6 billion.

Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €4 billion, which are equal with the figures generated in September 2020. In addition, Tradegate Exchange’s Trading volumes increased to €21.8 billion this month from the previous year’s €20.1 billion.
By type of asset class, equities accounted for €132.8 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €21.2 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.3 billion, in certificates €1.5 billion and in funds €0.2 billion.
In August, Deutsche Börse’ cash market had a turnover of EUR 137.6 billion, which is up compared to the number hit last year of EUR 116.9 billion.
