Deutsche Börse’s Cash Markets Generated €137.6 Billion Turnover in August

Deutsche Börse Group, a leading German marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and other securities, has published the trading metrics across its cash markets for August.
Specifically, the group’s cash markets generated a total turnover of €137.6 billion over the last month, which is a 14.8 percent up year-over-year. The cash markets saw a trading volume of €116.9 billion in August 2020.
According to the announcement, Xetra exchange, which generated most of the trading volumes, saw an increase to €106.7 billion last month from the previous year’s €95.8 billion. Xetra’s average daily trading volume increased from €4.6 billion in August 2020 to €4.9 billion.
Trading volumes on Börse Frankfurt were €3.9 billion, up from previous year’s €3.7 billion. In addition, Tradegate Exchange’s Trading volumes also increased to €27 billion this month from the previous year’s €17.3 billion.
By type of asset class, equities accounted for €116.9 billion in the entire cash market. Trading in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs generated a turnover of €18.8 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.3 billion, in certificates €1.3 billion and in funds €0.2 billion.
Last month, Deutsche Börse registered a net revenue of €881.7 million for the second quarter of 2021, up 13% compared to the corresponding period in 2020.
